Arvel Bird Plays With RCO
Sunday, May 16, 2010, at 3:00 pm
Hochstein Performance Hall

Bird |
Brilliant Native American violinist Arvel Bird joins
the RCO in a unique concert that will also include
the Fortissimo String Ensemble.
In addition to the violin, Bird also plays a variety of
Native American Flutes. His music reflects his dual
heritage of the Paiute tribe in Utah and Scotland.
He conveys through words and music
Native American wisdom, the animals, and the earth
we live on, and he utilizes Scottish and Celtic influences
in his own personal style. And he does all of this
with eloquence, conviction and inspiration.
In addition to performing at many Native American
Festivals, and in Europe, he is also featured with
symphony orchestras, most recently with the Utah
Symphony. This will be his first appearance in the
Rochester area with an orchestra. He is the top touring Native American recording artist.
Arvel Bird’s music is a rare gift. His graceful blend of
Celtic and Native American music will touch your
heart and carry you home.
